Duty-free shops for EEU citizens to be opened in Russia

Own duty-free shops for citizens from countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will be created in Russia. Parlamentskaya Gazeta reports.

Separate duty-free shops will work for citizens, who depart from Russia to Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan. Citizens, who fly from Russia to other countries, will not be able to get into them.

In addition, travelers, who do not enter Russia, will not have access to the shops. Such requirements for location of duty-free shops at airports entered into force on March 4.

The rule that all duty-free shops in Russia need to be equipped with a video surveillance system also entered into force on the same date. Camera recordings must be kept for at least 30 days. Customs officers, who control the work of the shops, are provided with access to real-time videos.
