Japan will help Kyrgyzstan with organization of school meals. WFP reports.
Government of Japan allocated a grant of 6.25 million soms to Kyrgyzstan for introduction of hot meals in 8 schools in Osh and Jalal-Abad regions.
The money will be spent on the purchase of modern industrial kitchen equipment for school canteens. Schools received industrial electric stoves, multisection ovens, electric frying pans, kneading machines, refrigeration equipment, water heaters, multisection sinks, vegetable peelers and cutters, racks and tables.
School meals optimization project has been implemented since 2013. It covers more than 145,000 primary school students at 525 pilot schools.
