Kazakhstan not comment on Kyrgyzstan’s statement about violation of EEU rules

Kazakhstan does not comment on the statement of Kyrgyzstan about the violation of the rules of the Eurasian Economic Union. The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan informed 24.kg news agency.

According to the ministry, the Kazakh side has not lifted restrictions on the import of persimmons, apples and potatoes so far. Representatives of the Plant Quarantine Department of the Kyrgyz Republic left for Astana. They intend to obtain from Kazakhstan recognition of groundlessness of the claims and agreement on import of fruit and vegetables from Kyrgyzstan.

On February 19, Kazakhstan introduced temporary quarantine phytosanitary measures banning import of products from Kyrgyzstan (food and seed potatoes, apples and persimmons) and Uzbekistan (pomegranates). The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan stated that the notification of the ban on import from February 19 was received only after two days — on February 21. It says about 59 cases of import of contaminated products, but only 11 facts of them concern apples, potatoes and persimmons.
