It is planned to set a minimum amount of alimony in Kyrgyzstan. Deputy of the Parliament, Aisuluu Mamashova, told at a press conference at 24.kg news agency.

Corresponding amendments are proposed to be made to the Family Code and the Law on Bailiffs.

She noted that many parents hid real incomes in order not to pay alimony.

«They bring fictitious salary certificates of 1,000 soms, and pay the alimony of 200 soms,» she said.

The deputy proposes to take into account the subsistence minimum set for children by the National Statistical Committee.

«In 2018, it was 3,616 soms for children up to 7 years old, from 7 to 14 years old — 4,227 soms, from 14 years old — 4,600 soms. A parent will have to pay at least 50 percent of the subsistence minimum for a child per month, 75 percent — for two, 100 percent — for three. In this case, the minimum amount of alimony will be about 1,800 soms,» she said.

Aisuluu Mamashova noted that the bill provided that farmers could pay an alimony in kind.
