The largest number of murders and rapes of children in 2018 was registered in Issyk-Ata district of Chui region of Kyrgyzstan. Aslan Atabiev, the head of the Department for Countering Corruption, Supervision over Implementation of Laws in Social Sphere and Protection of the Rights of Children of the Prosecutor General’s Office, announced at a round table discussion.
According to him, the supervisory agency conducted an analysis of the number of crimes per 1,000 children.
«High crime rates are usually characteristic of cities, as the urban crime rate is higher. But the statistics in two districts of Chui region are alarming: 26 crimes per 33,143 children were committed in Moskovsky district, in Zhaiyl district — 41 crimes per 56,215 children. Most of all murders and rapes were committed in Issyk-Ata district. At least 42 crimes per 58,075 children were registered, one case was initiated on the fact of murder and 11 cases — on rapes,» Aslan Atabiev told.
