360 foreigners serve sentences in prisons of Kyrgyzstan

At least 360 foreigners are serving their sentences in prisons of Kyrgyzstan. Deputy Internal Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kursan Asanov said today at a parliament meeting.

According to him, a draft law on expulsion of citizens of other states after serving a prison term is being developed. Previously, such a rule did not exist. Nobody knew where the convicted foreigners went. There was no registration of foreigners who violated the rules of stay in Kyrgyzstan, but not deported.

Deputies believe that the problem will not be resolved after the adoption of the bill. A set of measures is needed, including raising of funds to create places of detention for foreign violators.
