Cameras recorded more than 12,600 violations of the rules of the road as of 12.00 in Bishkek.
The Main Traffic Safety Department is not available for comment.
Safe City project, within which cameras began to record violations on the roads, was launched today in Kyrgyzstan.
The cameras record seven types of traffic violations — red light running, entering an oncoming lane, driving on the side of the road, pavement or cycle path, lawns, footpaths, crossing the stop line, driver’s non-compliance with pedestrian crossings, exceeding set speed limit, driver’s non-compliance with stop and parking requirements.
