Kyrgyzstanis win 15 gold medals at International Sambo Tournament

Kyrgyzstanis won 15 gold medals at the International Sports and Combat Sambo Tournament. The State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Bishkek hosted competitions in memory of the soldier-internationalist, holder of the Order of the Red Star, Vitaly Gordeyev, and in honor of the anniversary of withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. More than 250 athletes from the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in it.

The national team of Kyrgyzstan won 15 gold, 13 silver and 30 bronze medals.

Kyrgyzstanis Kolbai Musakulov (up to 52 kg), Zhusup Shakirov (up to 57 kg), Elaman Kasymbaev (up to 68 kg), Daiyrbek Kariyaev (up to 82 kg), Pavel Goncharov (up to 90 kg) and Syimyk Zhaparov (over 100 kg) became champions in sports sambo.

Ruslan uulu Zhanat (up to 52 kg), Ilgiz Toktobaev (up to 57 kg), Sayak Barakanov (up to 62 kg), Sultan Alykulov (up to 68 kg), Asylbek Adylbekov (up to 74 kg), Bektur Idirisov (up to 82 kg), Kudaiberdi uulu Olzhobai (up to 90 kg), Shakhrier Idrisov (up to 100 kg) and Bekzat Mambetkulov (over 100 kg) took the first places in combat sambo.

The tournament was held for the 32nd time.
