Kyrgyzstan actively working in field of digital integration, PM believes

«Since the very first days of joining the Eurasian Economic Union, Kyrgyzstan has been actively working in the field of digital integration,» the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev said today speaking at a plenary session of a forum «Digital Agenda in the Era of Globalization 2.0» in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

The head of government noted that the five-year concept of digital transformation «Digital Kyrgyzstan» was drawn up and approved for the development of technology start-ups and the latest information technologies in Kyrgyzstan. The Prime Minister talked more specifically about individual projects implemented within the framework of the concept. In particular, he told about the beginning of a large-scale project «Digital Casa — Kyrgyzstan.»

«As a result, the concept should lead to a complete transition to the provision of high-quality digital public services and increase the digital skills of the population, as well as to lead to economic development and improvement of the well-being of citizens through the digital transformation of the economy. In Kyrgyzstan, government agencies are actively involved in the system of interdepartmental electronic interaction and a plan for developing priority electronic databases of government agencies is being implemented,» Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev stressed.

In addition, the Prime Minister told about the launch of a single portal of public services and plans to connect schools of Kyrgyzstan to the Internet. He added that work on a cybersecurity strategy was at the final stage, and within the framework of digital social protection, work to accelerate the process of providing vulnerable people with government benefits was underway.

The forum included signing of a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between technology parks using a digital signature.

«Digital Agenda in the Era of Globalization 2.0» forum was organized within the framework of the next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Heads of Governments of the EEU member countries, Chairman of the EEC board, heads of large international IT companies and IT technology parks, representatives of the technology industry, international organizations, business, as well as international experts in the field of information technology took part in its work.
