Uzbekistan ready to simplify rules of stay of Kyrgyzstanis on reciprocal basis

«We will simplify the rules of stay of Kyrgyzstanis in Uzbekistan on a reciprocal basis,» the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Komil Rashidov told reporters.

According to him, there is a visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, there is a temporary residential registration. This measure is provided by the laws of the two countries. But if earlier registration was a tourist’s concern, now it is the task of the inviting party.

«As for the possible concessions: if we cancel some rules, for example, on increasing the period of stay without a visa or registration on a mutual basis, then we must sign a corresponding agreement. But it is important to remember that the registration procedure at the place of stay is provided not only for Kyrgyzstanis, but also for citizens of any other country,» said Komil Rashidov.

Earlier, the deputy of the Parliament Dastan Bekeshev offered the Prime Minister to increase the length of stay of citizens of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan without registration from 5 to 30 days.

«Citizens of South Africa can stay in our country for 30 days without registration, and why can’t we introduce concessions for our beloved neighbors? I am sure that Uzbekistan would regard this very friendly, and it would be useful for us to attract tourists,» Dastan Bekeshev believes.

However, the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan opposed the proposal of the parliament member. The SCNS believes that the stay of citizens of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan without registration for 30 days can lead to uncontrolled migration and absence of the necessary accounting.
