Safe City project. Government of Kyrgyzstan enters final straight

The Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev held a meeting on the preparation for the launch of Safe City project. The Information Support Department of the government reported.

The hardware and software complexes have been installed at the intersection of Bokonbaev-Abdrakhmanov Streets, on the 7.6th and the 10th kilometers in Lebedinovka village, on the overhead crossings along Baitik Baatyr Street and Manas Avenue. Cameras work in test mode.

«On January 8, 2019, the equipment of the first phase for 10 intersections in Bishkek, as well as 17 fixed posts and 20 mobile hardware-software complexes has been delivered for the installation and commissioning works. All necessary permits were received by the beginning of the implementation of the first phase of the project, in parallel, work to obtain permits for the next phases is underway. Work on updating road markings and road signs is carried out,» the head of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications, Bakyt Sharshembiev, reported.

It is planned to launch in test mode all the sections of the first phase of the Safe City project on February 12, 2019.

Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev noted that state bodies should complete all organizational and technical measures in the near future. All the necessary infrastructure must be prepared, the mechanisms for administering fines must be clearly worked out.

The Prime Minister paid special attention to the fact that before launching the project and starting the system of universal recording of violations of the traffic rules, citizens should be aware of how violations would be recorded, how the delivery of notifications about fines would be organized and how their payment services would work.
