Setting the new criminal legislation of Kyrgyzstan right will take half a year or a year. The head of the Department for Judicial Reform and Legitimacy of the Presidential Administration Sanzhar Isabaev told journalists.
According to him, it is necessary to compare and analyze the laws during this time. «If there is a need, we will make changes. About 300 cases are now in limbo. These are cases that are not considered in the courts and no decisions have been taken on them,» said Sanzhar Isabaev.
He added that in any case there was a need for amendments. «There are no perfect laws. A moratorium on amending the criminal law was introduced in order the concept not to be changed. However, there are exceptions, such as bringing articles into line with the Constitution,» Sanzhar Isabaev stressed.
