Kyrgyzstan’s Customs increases collection of duties by 22% in 2018

In 2018, Kyrgyzstan collected 22 percent, or 7.5 billion soms, of customs duties more than in 2017. The Chairman of the State Customs Service Almaz Onolbekov said this at a press conference today.

According to him, initially, a plan of 39.8 billion soms was set for the State Customs Service. This is 16.4 percent, or 5.6 billion soms, more than in 2017. In the first 9 months of 2018, it was increased by 3.7 billion soms, setting the task for the Customs to replenish the budget by 43.5 billion soms.

At the end of 2018, the Customs Service collected 41.7 billion soms in payments.

«As a result, the budget received 1.8 billion soms less than the adjusted plan. This is due to the lack of import customs duties from the EEU countries. Thus, instead of 17.6 billion soms, about 16.2 billion soms were transferred,» Almaz Onolbekov stated.
