Familiarization with the criminal case against the ex-mayor of Bishkek Kubanychbek Kulmatov is completed. His lawyer Sergei Slesarev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the case is to be brought to court the other day. But the lawyer does not know when the consideration of the case will begin. He stressed that the investigation, as the study of the case of his client showed, was conducted superficially, there was no reasoned evidence in it.
The lawyer noted unprecedented pressure on him as a lawyer by the investigators of the State Committee for National Security and stressed that the charge was filed illegally.
According to investigators, in 2014, Kubanychbek Kulmatov, being the mayor, illegally used grant funds of $ 2 million for the construction of two schools.
