Kyrgyzstan develops mechanism for revocation of private medical centers licenses

There is no mechanism for revocation of licenses from private medical centers in Kyrgyzstan. Deputy of the Parliament Bakhadyr Suleimanov told 24.kg news agency.

He noted that the deputies have developed a bill on medical activity, which would regulate the activities of private medical clinics.

«There is a law on licensing in the republic. But there is a serious gap in it. There is no unified act to regulate the issue of licenses. Agencies operate according to their own regulations. There is no license revocation mechanism. For example, the Ministry of Health issued a license, and can not withdraw it, even if significant violations were revealed. One has to sue, and this may drag on for years,» Bakhadyr Suleymanov said.

According to him, the draft law proposes a mechanism of influence on sham doctors, centers and persons working without licenses.

«We have clearly stated that the Ministry of Health can draw up instructions to such persons, and the law enforcement agencies — to take measures in accordance with the Criminal Code. Today, they refuse to take action, because there is no clear prohibition in the legislation,» the deputy added.
