State visit of the head of Russia Vladimir Putin to the republic is expected at the end of March. The Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan reported.
«In order to develop Kyrgyz-Russian relations, alliance and strategic partnership, strengthen friendship and promote economic projects, Sooronbai Jeenbekov invited Vladimir Putin to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan. The parties are currently working on the issue,» said Daniyar Sydykov, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He recalled that a bilateral meeting of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Russia took place on the sidelines of a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS countries in September 2018 in Tajikistan, during which Sooronbai Jeenbekov officially invited Vladimir Putin to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan. An active work on the preparation for the event began since then.
It is noted that an official visit of the Foreign Affairs Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov to Kyrgyzstan is expected on February 3-4. The main issue on the agenda will be the discussion of the upcoming state visit of Vladimir Putin.
A number of events are planned as part of the state visit. The 21st meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian
Intergovernmental Commission will be held, the 8th Kyrgyz-Russian Interregional Conference with the participation of the business communities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation will take place. Participation of 500 business representatives is expected.

«For the first time Kyrgyzstan will host the Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Following the forum, a number of agreements will be signed,» added Daniyar Sydykov.
Within the framework of bilateral meetings of the presidents, an exchange of views on topical issues of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation will take place, including: on trade and economic cooperation, in the field of security in the region, promotion of projects in the field of infrastructure construction in Kyrgyzstan. The question of compatriots staying in Russia will also be raised.
Following the results of the state visit, it is expected that 15 cooperation documents in the military, economic and law enforcement spheres, regional and foreign policy cooperation will be signed.
