Border guards shot a violator dead in Manas district of Talas region. Public Relations and Media Department of the State Border Service reported.
The incident occurred today in the Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the border in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Three unknown persons illegally drove 10-15 horses across the border from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan in Zhaiylgan area of Manas district, Talas region. The border guards tried to detain the violators, but they resisted, threatening with a knife.
Border guards fired warning shots. Despite this, the perpetrators continued to resist. The servicemen opened fire in the direction of the offenders, as a result one was injured, two managed to escape in the territory of Kazakhstan.
The wounded man died from the gunshot. Investigative and search activities are being conducted, the Border Service reported.
