Organizer of rally in Bishkek: Provocateurs called to go to White House

Organizer of a rally in Bishkek, Amanbol Babakulov, does not intend to pay 3,000 soms for organizing the protest against Chinese expansion. He told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the police detained him in the Pervomaisky District Court, where he came on a subpoena.

«During the rally, I was handed a subpoena to the Pervomaisky District Court for 16.00. When I came, I learned that the Bishkek City Administration had appealed to the court on our notice to hold a rally on January 17. It decided to ban rallies from January 17 to January 27. In addition, we had to complete the protest at 13.00, but the people did not disperse. As an organizer, I was fined 3,000 soms. After the meeting in court, I was taken to the Pervomaisky district police department. I was interrogated for three hours, was asked about the rally customers. Then they let me go,» Amanbol Babakulov told.

As the organizer of the rally noted, there were provocateurs yesterday at the rally.

«Young people, who called to go to the White House, were not participants of the rally. When the police began to act, they fled. I would like to stress that a person who is self-righteous and comes to rally for ideas will not run away,» Amanbol Babakulov said.

The organizers of the rally will go to the Parliament today to find out the fate of their demands.

The protest against Chinese expansion took place yesterday in Bishkek. Representatives of the protesters were received by the Vice Speaker of the Parliament Mirlan Bakirov. After the protesters did not obey the police, they were dispersed. Some of the protesters were detained.
