Rally against the Chinese expansion was attended by representatives of state agencies — the head of the Pervomaisky district of Bishkek and an employee of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kyrgyzstan.
Head of the district Toktosun Sultanov urged the protesters to respect cleanliness.
«Information about stay of Chinese citizens in Kyrgyzstan is not entirely reliable. In 2018, about 10,000 Chinese citizens obtained a long-term visa. They mainly worked in the construction of roads,» Almaz Imangaziev, Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informed the rally participants.
Protesters demand to impose a moratorium on granting Kyrgyz citizenship to everyone except for ethnic Kyrgyz. The participants of the rally also demand to create a state commission and check the factories and plants with the participation of the Chinese share, as well as to deport Chinese citizens illegally staying in the country.
About a hundred people gathered on the central Ala-Too square in Bishkek.
