The heads of the state-owned company Kyrgyz Temir Zholu and O'zbekiston Temir Yollari JSC signed a protocol, according to which a 30% discount on transit cargo transportation through the territory of Uzbekistan in the direction (to / from) stations of the southern branch of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu was retained. Radio Ozodlik reported.
It is noted that the decision was made in order to increase freight traffic between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
For 2019, some discounts were also provided for certain transit sections of the Uzbek railway, such as 35 percent discount with the participation of the international state division point Hodzhadavlet; 40 percent - with the participation of the international state division point Karakalpakstan.
It is known that recalculation of freight payments will be made using a discount of 35 percent instead of 30 when transporting transit cargo to / from stations in the southern branch during the 2019 freight year.
According to the press service of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu state enterprise, discounts apply to 200,000 tons of oil and oil products, 60,000 tons of timber and lumber, 35,000 tons of grinding products.
