Parliament of Kyrgyzstan chose a land plot for construction of a phytosanitary laboratory, supporting a number of changes to the law on land transformation.
The Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development approved these amendments.
According to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation, Zhanybek Kerimaliev, the changes have been developed in order to implement the agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and China on the provision of free assistance for the construction and equipping of veterinary and phytosanitary laboratory.
A land plot located in Ak-Zhol village (Sokuluk district, Chui region) was selected for the construction of the laboratory. However, this land belongs to the category of farmland, the transformation of which is prohibited. Members of the relevant committee had to amend the Law on the Introduction of Moratorium on Transfer (Transformation) of Arable Land to Other Categories of Land and Types of Land in order to build the laboratory.
