The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov received the Director of the Agency for the Promotion and Protection of Investments of the Kyrgyz Republic Shumkarbek Adilbek uulu.
According to the press service of the head of state, the sides discussed issues of improving the investment climate and the business sector, as well as the development of foreign trade.
Shumkarbek Adilbek uulu provided the president with information on the activities of the agency in attracting investments to the country, the agency’s development strategies and plans for the coming years. He also reported on the negative trends in attracting investment and the reasons for the decline in investment from the main partner countries.
The President paid special attention to the fact that some investment projects have not been implemented for a number of years.

The head of state stressed that urgent real measures were needed to improve the investment climate and remove barriers to doing business, and paid particular attention to the issues of support for the implementation of investment projects.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov considers it necessary to conduct continuous monitoring of the implementation of investment projects and, in case of undue interference by law enforcement and other state bodies, immediately inform the country’s leadership and the relevant state bodies.
The President instructed to strengthen the work on detection of conflict situations in the implementation of local projects and to intensify their prevention.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted that within the framework of the declared Year of Regional Development and Digitalization of the country in order to increase the openness and transparency of the implementation of investment projects, special attention should be paid to the introduction of information and communication technologies.
