During the meeting they discussed the situation in the foreign exchange market, conducted monetary policy, the current situation in the banking sector, and the measures taken to ensure the stability of the national currency.
According to Tolkunbek Abdygulov, in order to mitigate the growth of the dollar, the National Bank intervened nine times by selling the currency for $ 168.25 million and two times — by purchase of the currency for $ 20.55 million.
The head of state noted the need to maintain the effective exchange rate of the national currency, import-export operations, the balance of payments. In addition, the President stressed the importance of the stability of the banking system and the need for the National Bank to monitor the situation in the international financial markets to minimize the risks of possible external shocks for the national economy.
«Sooronbai Jeenbekov instructed to increase the number of ATMs and POS terminals in the regions of the country,» the presidential press service reported.
