The prosecution authorities denied retrial to ex-MP Sadyr Japarov. His lawyer Sharabidin Toktosunov informed 24.kg news agency.
According to the lawyer, he had previously filed complaints to the Pervomaisky District and Bishkek City Prosecutor’s Offices. Both instances refused to review the case of Sadyr Japarov.
«I presented all the evidence of my client’s innocence and indicated in the complaints that the testimony during the investigation was given under the pressure of the investigators. Since the district and city prosecutors denied retrial to me, I filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office,» said Sharabidin Toktosunov.
The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced Sadyr Japarov to 11 years and six months in a penal colony for complicity in organizing a rally in Karakol city in 2013.
The former deputy was convicted under hostage-taking article of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The judicial board of the Supreme Court upheld the verdict of the first instance court in the criminal case against the ex-MP Sadyr Japarov.
