Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan supports increase in fines for traffic violations

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev stated that the increase in fines for traffic violations was aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens. He stated this the day before at the first working meeting in 2019.

According to the head of government, violators of order must be punished, because often a violation of traffic rules is a threat to the lives of people around. Fines increase is a preventive measure. At the same time, Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev noted the importance of enhancing public feedback and awareness-raising activities on such initiatives as increase in fines for violation of traffic rules.

«Potential violators must feel responsibility, because there will be no order without internal self-discipline. The safety of citizens is very important for us, but distorted information about innovations is being spread. Therefore, state bodies should promptly explain to people the purpose of innovations,» he stressed.

A number of new codes and laws have entered into force in the country since January 1, 2019, implying tougher liability for certain offenses, including increased fines for traffic violations, which caused outrage of users of social networks.
