Kyrgyzstan officially has 90,000 unemployed

Employment services of Kyrgyzstan have registered 90,800 unemployed in the country. The Minister of Labor and Social Development Ulukbek Kochkorov told at a press conference.

According to him, 70,100 people have the official status of unemployed.

«The official unemployment rate was 2.8 percent of the economically active population — 2,525 million people. The number of vacancies announced by the employment services is 24,400, the demand for working specialties prevailed. At least 19 people applied for one free workplace,» the minister said.

Since the beginning of 2018, about 147,900 people have turned to employment services. They received advice on labor and employment legislation, vocational training and retraining opportunities, and choice of professions. At least 24,200 people were employed, 115 of them were people with disabilities.
