The term of detention of ex-mayor of Bishkek Kubanychbek Kulmatov was extended until January 31, 2019.
This decision was made today by the judge of the Pervomaisky District Court, Aibek Ernis uulu.
Kubanychbek Kulmatov is charged with corruption. According to investigators, in 2014, he, being a mayor, illegally used grant funds of $ 2 million for the construction of two schools. In addition, he is charged with forgery of a passport. The State Committee for National Security claims that the ex-mayor of Bishkek became a citizen of Kyrgyzstan illegally.
