The United States of America is open to dialogue with the authorities of Kyrgyzstan to search for new ways of development of bilateral relations. A representative of the U.S. Department of State told TASS.
Recall, the day before, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at a press conference that Kyrgyzstan would resume cooperation with the United States, but noted that the republic would defend its interests.
«The United States is committed to strengthening long-term and productive partnership with Kyrgyzstan on the basis of trust, equality and mutual respect. Both countries are interested in stability, security and prosperity of Kyrgyzstan and the region, as well as in ensuring the further development of democracy in the Kyrgyz Republic,» the diplomat stressed.
The denunciation of the agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and the United States on cooperation took place at the initiative of the former head of state Almazbek Atambayev in 2015. The document provided for humanitarian, as well as economic and technical assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic by the USA. All deliveries provided by U.S. assistance programs were not subject to taxes and customs duties, and the civilian and military personnel of the U.S. government working in the country had equal diplomatic status.
