Kyrgyz President not intend to intervene in Omurbek Babanov’s case

The President of Kyrgyzstan does not intend to intervene in the case of Omurbek Babanov. Sooronbai Jeenbekov announced at a press conference.

According to him, there were no negotiations with Omurbek Babanov.

«We had a pre-election debate with him. After that, we have not met. I don’t know what he was negotiating with the ex-president,» said Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

The President added that there were no agreements or arrangements with anyone during the elections.

«They say I’m a traitor. But I will not betray the interests of the people of Kyrgyzstan. We had two revolutions. I know the reasons for these revolutions. I will never follow this way. They say that the case was opened against Omurbek Babanov incorrectly. The president cannot open and close cases. Laws should work,» the head of the Kyrgyz Republic noted.

Recall, the ex-president of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev in an interview with April TV channel said that the case of Omurbek Babanov should be closed.
