ARVI incidence on rise in Kyrgyzstan

Incidence of acute respiratory viral infections is increasing in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Health reported.

According to operational data, from December 10 to December 16, compared with the previous week, the increase in the number of patients reached 16 percent. Totally, 9,077 cases have been registered.

The gradual increase in the incidence of ARVI in the country begins in December with a peak in January-February.

ARVI is a group of viral diseases affecting the upper respiratory tract (bronchi, trachea, larynx, nasopharynx). The diseases of this group include influenza, parainfluenza, respiratory syncytial infection, rhinovirus and adenoviral infections. Diseases are transmitted by airborne droplets.

Symptoms of ARVI include runny nose, sore throat, cough, chills and fever, headache, muscle and joint aches, feeling of weakness, loose stools, vomiting, and inflammation of the lymph nodes.
