Bishkek City Court remands Sapar Isakov in custody until January 5

The Bishkek City Court considered an appeal in the case against the former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov. Lawyer Zamir Jooshev said.

According to him, the hearing was held behind closed doors — relatives and supporters of the defendant were not allowed into the courtroom.

«There was no reason for the closed hearing, because they were open before. The judicial board upheld the decision according to which Sapar Isakov would be in custody until January 5, 2019. We will appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court,» said Zamir Jooshev.

Former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov was arrested on corruption charges within the criminal case on modernization of Bishkek’s Heating and Power Plant.
