The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov congratulated television and radio workers on their professional holiday — the Day of Television and Radio Workers in the Kyrgyz Republic.
He noted that 60 years ago, on December 8, 1958, the first television program was aired in Kyrgyzstan. Over the past years, the message says, Kyrgyz television and radio have made a tremendous breakthrough in their development, becoming today the main source of operational information about current events in the country and the world.
«Television and radio daily test the work of the state authorities, inspire the multinational people of Kyrgyzstan to do constructive work, assert the ideals of goodness and justice in society. Nevertheless, we have yet to create television, in the center of the editorial policy of which are the citizen and the satisfaction of his or her informational, cultural and spiritual needs. I hope that together we can achieve this goal,» the president said.
