The Embassy of China in Kyrgyzstan has resumed the procedure for issue of individual tourist visas to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Since the beginning of 2017, the Chinese Embassy has suspended issue of visas to Kyrgyzstanis. Tourist visas were issued only to groups of five people. Currently, the diplomatic mission of China processes individual tourist visas of L category.
Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic have repeatedly complained about difficulties in processing documents at the embassy of the PRC. Students and businessmen could not leave for China on time and start study / negotiations due to the lack of a visa.
On August 30, 2016, an explosion occurred in the Chinese Embassy in Bishkek. A suicide bomber rammed an automatic gate of the diplomatic mission by car. Explosion thundered, two gardeners of the diplomatic mission were injured.
Suspects were detained during the investigation. The court found all the defendants — Hasamidin Ismailov, Hikmatillo Abdulazhanov and Kunazim Mansirova — guilty of committing a terrorist act in the diplomatic mission territory.
The Chinese Embassy decided to stop issue of visas to Kyrgyz citizens.
