A monument to the writer Chingiz Aitmatov will be erected in Osh city. A graduate of St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after Repin, Tamila Mamatova, told 24.kg news agency.
She created a three-meter sculpture of Chingiz Aitmatov as a graduate work and is ready to donate it to Osh сity.
«Osh city administration answered our appeal. They supported us and are ready to cooperate. As promised, I will grant the sculpture, they have to finance the material in order to complete the monument for 3 million soms. Funds to install the monument are also required,» told Tamila Mamatova.
According to the mayor’s office, the sculpture of Chingiz Aitmatov is planned to be installed at the intersection of Bekmamat Osmonov and Kokum Biy Streets, on the west side of the monument to Barsbek. A park named after the writer will also appear there.
