As a result of September 2018, the lowest prices for potatoes, first grade flour and lamb meat among the capitals of the EEU countries have been registered in Bishkek. The data was presented by the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The National Statistical Committee analyzed the prices of basic foodstuffs in four cities of the Eurasian Economic Union — Bishkek, Astana, Moscow and Minsk. It turned out that prices in the capital of Kyrgyzstan are almost similar to other capitals, but salaries are much lower.

In September 2018, the maximum average consumer price for eggs ($ 1.01) was registered in Moscow and Minsk, and the minimum ($ 0.83 for dozen) — in Astana. The minimum average price for mutton ($ 4.27) was in Bishkek, and for pasteurized milk — in Minsk ($ 0.63).

But the comparison of the purchasing power of an average monthly wage for the second month in a row is not in favor of Bishkek. Due to the low salary ($ 309.1), the capital of Kyrgyzstan is lagging behind other capitals on all food products.

For example, 2.75 times less food can be bought for Bishkek salary than for Moscow one.
