The Judicial Board for Criminal and Administrative Offenses of the Bishkek City Court considered the complaint of the lawyer of the former presidential adviser Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov.
The defense requested to place Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov under house arrest. Lawyer Sergei Slesarev said that the detention of his client was illegal and unreasonable. According to him, Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov does not intend to run away from the investigation.
The judges did not uphold the lawyer’s complaint and left in force the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court.
The lawyer said he would appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov was placed in the pretrial detention center of SCNS until November 28. He was charged with fraud. According to investigators, Ikramzhan Ilmiyanov received $ 150,000 from one of the businessmen. Ex-adviser to former president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev was detained in Kazan and extradited to Bishkek.
