Russia and Kyrgyzstan to create joint logistics centers

Russia and Kyrgyzstan may create trade and logistics centers in the Kyrgyz Republic. Newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov said in an interview with Kommersant newspaper.

According to him, Kyrgyzstan considers the Eurasian Economic Union as an effective platform where economic issues can be resolved.

«But so far, the issues of phytosanitary and veterinary control, certification have not been fully regulated. Kyrgyzstan expects that the issue will be resolved,» the Kyrgyz Foreign Affairs Minister noted.

«Sergei Lavrov and I discussed the possibility of creating joint trade and logistics centers in Kyrgyzstan. Russia has experience in this area. This will allow the Russian consumers to directly receive our quality products. Trade and logistics centers are a kind of hubs, places where products are collected, standardized, selected in accordance with the standards of the EEU, so that goods can easily enter the markets of the Union states. Therefore, the target audience will be determined after a logistics center selects and prepares the products,» said Chingiz Aidarbekov.
