President of Kyrgyzstan signs Code of Offences 

President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev signed the Code of Offences. Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration reported.

It noted that today the President approved a new Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan. It was adopted by the Parliament on December 22, 2016.

The main directions of the new Criminal Code are the ideas of humanization of justice, departure from the repressive measures of criminal law, development and introduction of new mechanisms of influence on a convicted person for the purpose of his resocialization. 

Not only to the Criminal Code, and the Code of Offences, but the Criminal Procedure Code, the Penal Code and the law on the basics of amnesty and the process of its application dated January 24, 2017 are also to be enacted.

Laws will come into force on January 1, 2019.
