Ata Meken party gets response from Belize- deputies not involved in offshore company

Ata Meken party received a response from Belize, confirming noninvolvement of three deputies in the offshore company. The leader of the parliamentary faction Omurbek Tekebayev announced today at a press conference.++

A formal request on the involvement of Omurbek Tekebayev, Aida Salyanova, Almambet Shykmamatova in trust of MegaCom shares through an offshore company had been sent to Belize.

The politician showed documents which he said prove noninvolvement of Ata Meken deputies in Belizegate.

"We got the answer that it was impossible to voice the names of the owners. Under the terms of registration of a company, information can be obtained by its owners or shareholders, but I, Salyanova and Shykmamatov are not among them," Omurbek Tekebayev said. 

He called the documents, made public by the State National Security Committee, a fake.

"We have been promised to be submitted documents, but it has not been made. The essence of the conspirators was that we had to help with sale of 49 percent of MegaCom. Indeed, the company was to be sold, but the initiative was made by Almazbek Atambayev when he was the Prime Minister," Omurbek Tekebayev stressed.
