Over $2 bln attracted on development of transport infrastructure of Kyrgyzstan since independence

At least $2,435 billion have been attracted for the development of transport infrastructure of Kyrgyzstan since independence, Vice Prime Minister Oleg Pankratov said today at a meeting of SDPK faction. 

According to him,  $2,145 billion are loans and $289 million - grants.

"It allowed to complete 29 major projects to improve the strategic roads. Kyrgyzstan signed international agreements with ADB, IDB and Exim-Bank of China for the rehabilitation of the road Bishkek - Naryn - Torugart. The total amount of funds for the rehabilitation of the road is more than $427 million," Vice Prime Minister said.

Oleg Pankratov also noted large infusion in the energy sector of the country.

"It comprised about $2 billion and allowed Kyrgyzstan to become nonvolatile. But with the accession of the country to electricity export project CASA-1000, we will become a country focused on the export of electricity," he added.
