Base salary of doctor only $ 72 in Kyrgyzstan

Corruption in the health care system can not be eradicated till salary of doctors in Kyrgyzstan is not increased. Today, the base salary is $ 72. This became known today during the meeting of journalists with a member of Parliament Alfia Samigullina.

According to her, the basic salary of a doctor is 5,000 soms, the average is 7,000-8,000. Doctors of hospitals who are on duty around the clock get 8,000-9,000 soms.

"If a doctor works 1.5 working time, i.e. from 8.00 a.m. till 5.00-6.00 p.m., the maximum he can get is 11,000-12,000 soms. Having such a salary, doctors will think how to feed the family and will it be possible to buy shoes for the children. Corruption in the health care system can not be eradicated till salary of doctors in Kyrgyzstan is not increased. Who a doctor is? It is calls 24 hours a day. And he is called in the night also," Alfia Samigullina said. 

She could not say what salary would be enough. "I do not know, but it should be increased at least twice," MP added.
