President of Turkmenistan notes progressive development of Kyrgyz-Turkmen relations

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the progressive development of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen relations. Presidential press service of the Kyrgyz Republic informed.

According to it, the day before the President of Kyrgyzstan met with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov within his working visit to Ashgabat. They discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.

Almazbek Atambayev thanked his counterpart for the invitation to visit Turkmenistan and participate in the international conference "The policy of neutrality: international cooperation for peace, security and development."

 "Turkmenistan is the first country, the neutrality of which is confirmed by the United Nations. The last 20 years have shown that Turkmenistan has made the right choice: it successfully develops and can provide support to neighboring countries," he said.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the progressive development of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen relations. "I'm glad to see you at the conference. Your political vision on the international scene is very important for us. We are pleased that you have always supported our initiatives. We will have a good opportunity during the international conference to discuss issues of cooperation at both the regional and global level," he said.

The President of Turkmenistan reminded that he still has good memories of the state visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. "We still have much to do to deepen bilateral cooperation," he stressed.

 "The sides expressed hope for further widening and deepening of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan," the press service noted.
