John Kerry takes part in opening of new building of U.S. Embassy in Bishkek

The U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry took part in the opening of a new building of the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek.

"The new building looks amazing. It is perfectly designed, light, has a lot of open space. It would be nice to plant trees along the fence, if security service allows it," John Kerry said.

The new building at the cost $ 163 million is located on 4.5 ha land plot in Lenin district of Bishkek. It is built with the use of new technologies that optimize resources and reduce the cost of its maintenance. Energy-saving technologies, environmentally sustainable water consumption, and strip lighting are used in the building.

John Kerry's visit to Bishkek is a part of his Central Asia tour. After opening ceremony, he will hold bilateral meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and the Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev.
