Almazbek Atambayev: Fact that seedlings of cherry tree take root in Kyrgyzstan is good sign

"This is a good sign that the cherry tree seedlings, which I brought from Japan, have taken root in Kyrgyzstan," President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said at a meeting in a narrow format with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

According to him, recently in an interview with the head of the Japanese government he said that his official visit to Kyrgyzstan will be epochal and crucial. "We also hope so. I'm still grateful to the warm welcome in Tokyo two years ago when I visited Japan. From that trip I brought cherry seedlings. And now we have a small cherry garden in the southern part of Bishkek, and I also have cherry tree in my garden. This is a good sign that the plants have taken root. I hope that our relations will continue to develop," Almazbek Atambaev said.

He congratulated Shinzo Abe re-election to the post of prime minister. Guest congratulated Almazbek Atambayev on the successful holding of parliamentary elections and added that Japan's political circles gave them the highest level. "I was accompanied by representatives of the business community, and we look forward to the implementation of specific projects in Kyrgyzstan. At the end of my visit, our relationship will come to a new level of quality in all areas," Shinzo Abe said.
