Week without Parliament: what are MPs doing?

Kyrgyz MPs on December 5 went to the districts for a week to meet with voters. 24.kg news agency decided to ask what are they actually doing.

Social Democratic Party faction

Azamat Kasymbekov, member of the secretariat of SDPK:

- Most likely, all members of our faction have left for the regions. Someone went to Osh, someone - to Talas. And I together with faction leader Isa Omurkulov will go through Chui region today. We will carry out explanatory work on constitutional reform. Speaker Chynybay Tursunbekov will hold meetings with voters in Talas and will explain them the proposed amendments to the Basic Law.

Dastan Bekeshev:

- I'm not going anywhere, because my district is in Bishkek. So here I accumulate all the resources and finances, and I will meet with electorate here.

Respublika - Ata Jurt faction

Nurlan Abdaliev, media consultant and Public Relations Coordinator for Respublika - Ata Jurt faction:

- As far as I know, Omurbek Babanov is currently in Bishkek, but I do not know where exactly he is. As for his plans, I can not say for sure, as well as about the other members of the faction. 

Maksat Sabirov:

- I went to my district, to Issyk-Kul region. Speaker should come to the region in two days. I do not participate in preparation for the local elections on our party line. And we, the members of the Parliament, can not hold election campaigning under the law. And there is meeting with voters under the regulations. Therefore, I am in Issyk-Kul.

Ata Meken faction 

Omurbek Tekebayev, leader of the faction:

- I'm going to go to Kant and Naryn. Yes, our party is not running in Bishkek, but will take part in the elections in these towns. So we will get acquainted with the work of our local organizations.

Kyrgyzstan faction:

Kanat Isaev, former leader of the faction:

- Yes, I'm going to leave, but is here (in Bishkek) now. Little time left before the election.

Onuguu-Progress faction

Tynchtyk Shaynazarov: 

- No, I'll be in Bishkek, and the leader of our party Bakyt Torobaev - too. So I, of course, would have traveled to Osh, but elections in Osh were held in March, there is a responsible person in Kara-Suu.

Mirlan Bakirov:

- I'm in Jalal-Abad now. I am responsible from our party here. The elections are on December 11 and our party is running for the local council here.  

Bir Bol faction

Ayperi Toktomatova, head of the secretariat of Bir Bol faction:

- All of our deputies have to leave. Somebody- for Osh, others- for Batken. They will travel through Chui region too. The leader Altynbek Sulaimanov is here, in Bishkek, so far.
