Devaluation of deputy honor or?..

The Supreme Court of the KR upheld decision of the lower courts to pay compensation at 5,000 soms to the deputy from the SDPK parliamentary faction Irina Karamushkina, whose drunk driver on the service car has stroke and killed a man. The representative of the party, we recall, demanded 5 million soms from our journalist and editorial office. In this amount she estimated the damage to her honor and dignity.

24.kg news agency decided to find out from colleagues of the deputy, with what such a "devaluation" of the parliamentary honor is connected.

Daniyar Terbishaliyev, deputy of SDPK faction:  

- Can I say nothing?  

-Why?

- This is a provocative question, write "No comments".

- Is it connected with parliamentary solidarity?

Felix Kulov, leader of Ar-Namys faction:

- How did the Supreme Court ground the reduction in the amount of 5 million to 5,000 soms? (laughs)  

- Well, Irina Yurievna is not offended...

- This is a matter of principle. Therefore, to estimate how much does deputy honor cost... In this case, of course, Karamushkina is right. The precedent was important for her. I wouldn't say, "how much the honor and dignity cost", because to get a positive decision was important for Karamushkina. The question is: What is included in the amount of 5 million soms, certainly, exorbitant for any news agency? Irina Karamushkina should ground the requested amount. Perhaps the court would order to pay 5 million.

Dastan Bekeshev, deputy from Ar-Namys faction, the founder of Ak-Niet party:

- Unfortunately, there is a kind of judicial practice, when in lawsuit on protect the honor and dignity a citizen issuing multi-million soms in case of victory is awarded to approximately 50,000 soms. It's actually a very bad new practice and it is unknown where did it come from.

After all, there are times when the information is false, and can affect the reputation of the person so that his career comes to an end; he is ashamed in every corner. I'll tell you my case, however, it was resolved safely, because the newspaper apologized. But then I also had to file a lawsuit.

I studied various earlier court rulings, and in most cases the prescribed amount was to 50,000 soms. Therefore, it is not a "devaluation" of the deputy honor, this is jurisprudence.

Kurmantai Abdiyev, member of parliament, Ata-Zhurt faction:

- No one is allowed to comment on the Supreme Court's decision.

Damir Niyazalieva, the deputy of Social Democratic Party:

-There is still a matter of principle. I read an interview with Irina Yurievna, where she said that she doesn't think about thee amount, it doesn't matter. For Karamushkina it was important to point out the error of publication. Although a small amount, but it says that the material violates constitutional rights.

- Well, after all, in your opinion, what is the reason of price "collapse"?

- Honestly, I have never heard of cases in Kyrgyzstan when a person was punished by the amount inquired in the lawsuit. For some reason, our courts underestimate it. Everyone thinks that he is right, but in this case, the court decided to kill two birds with one stone. Justice and pleased the other party as well, and all remained with own opinion.

Omurbek Abdyrakhmanov, the MP:

-On Sunday, a day off the car the deputy, which was parked at home, not in a garage of the parliament, returning from the guests, in Tokmak knocked two people, one of whom died on the spot and another was seriously injured.

Only God now knows the MP Karamushkina was in the car. The driver, we all remember from the accident, fled the scene. And when before entering Bishkek traffic police stopped him, it turned out that he was drunk. Subsequently, the driver of Karamushkina escaped the trial with slight shock as a result of the petition of the parliamentarian. Courts respected her because she is not a simple deputy, but the deputy from the ruling Social Democratic Party, whose leader is the current president.

In view of these circumstances 24.kg news agency completely denies fact of the accident and death of a man and apologizes to Karamushkina. Damage to credibility of the deputy is compensated by 5,000 soms, as the court evaluated her honor by such amount.

Asia Sasykbayeva, the deputy of Ata Meken faction:

-Well, so there are such judgments in the Kyrgyz Republic. But I will say from my own experience: the problem is that today the media publishes a lot of unproven facts. And it really has a negative impact and the public further criticizes the parliament. However, in my opinion, today the parliament - is the most effective government institution. And I can not say that it was a "devaluation" of the deputy honor, it's just decision of the judges.

Tursunbai Bakir uulu, the MP from Ar-Namys faction:

- I do not know, I have not sued sicne1999 for the last time.

- Did you inquire great amount for your honor?

- I wanted to collect 3 million soms, but the late Melis Eshimkanov and a group including nine journalists came to me and said that if I go to Hajj, then it would be good if I forgive them. I listened to their requests and forgave them, since there were no more legal proceedings. Although I think that it is necessary to sue. Of course, we have difficult relationships with Irina Karamushkina, and it will be unethical to assess her actions. But, I think, an assessment her honor in 5,000 soms - well, of course, a shame. It would be better not to sue. I hurts me as deputy.

- Do you feel hurt for your colleague or devaluation of parliamentary honor?

- I am hurt for the honor of deputy. The fact that at one time even Tursunbek Akun could sue 10,000 soms for his reputation.
