State Directorate for the Year of History and Culture intends to spend 16.5 million soms on the events. This was announced today at a meeting of the Committee on Budget and Finance of the Parliament, where a draft decree on the allocation of this amount from the state budget was presented.
As the head of the State Directorate Sultan Raev explained, within the Year of History and Culture celebrations it is expected to hold two international events - the 2nd World Nomad Games and the 1000th anniversary of the great thinker Jusup Balasagyn. "In addition, the 100th anniversary of Urkun, the 25th anniversary of independence of Kyrgyzstan, the 90th anniversary of the Kirgiz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and the 80th anniversary of the Kyrgyz SSR will be marked at the republican level. At least 78 events will be held," the official explained.
Parliamentarians wondered why they had not been provided with detailed estimates of 16.5 million soms spending. "I am sure that this money will not be enough for all the work, and in fact the amount can reach 100 million soms," the head of the committee Askarbek Shadiev (Bir Bol) said and asked Sultan Raev to submit the budget of the State Directorate to the Parliament.
