Draft agreement on demarcation of Kyrgyz-Kazakh border prepared 

A draft agreement on the demarcation of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan was developed and prepared for signing, Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan on border issues Zhenish Razakov said yesterday at a government meeting.

According to him, "the delimitation of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan is completed. There have been installed 1,065 border posts along the border."

In 2016, Kyrgyzstan had 29 border incidents, including 11 - on the border with Uzbekistan, 9 - with Tajikistan.

" As of today, seven meetings have been held on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border . At least 47 sections have been approved, 236 km of common border have been demarcated. Vice premiers of the two countries approved the schedule of work for 2017," he said. 

Vice Prime Minister added that in 2016 there had been approved over 500 of 970 km of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. Negotiations with the Tajik side continue.
