Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border conflict. House and four vehicles damaged

The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border is now stable. The Public Relations and Media Department of the State Border Service reported.

According to it, the State Border Service units are on duty in the normal mode. To prevent the deterioration of the situation on the border, border services of the two states set their joint units at this site.

"Yesterday, on January 22 the incident occurred between the youth of the two republics in the village of Kok-Tash, Batken district of Batken region. The verbal exchanges between the citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan escalated into stones throwing. According to preliminary reports, one house and four cars of citizens of the two states had been damaged in the conflict," SBS informed.

The conflict was settled the same day. At the present time, the situation in the border areas is controlled by the representatives of local authorities, the police of the two states. 

A meeting of border representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, as a result of which the parties agreed to continue duty in normal mode, to take all measures to resolve the situation on the border in a peaceful way and to investigate the causes and circumstances of the incident has immediately taken place the same day.

The parties have also decided to activate explanatory work with the population in border areas
