Criminal case opened against former Deputy Minister of Transport

A criminal case was opened against the former Deputy Minister of Transport Ernis Mamyrkanov. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

It is noted that a criminal case against officials was instituted on the grounds of crime under the articles 304 (abuse of power) and 306 (conclusion of a contract, public procurement contrary to the interests of the Kyrgyz Republic).

It was found out that on July 22, 2015 a contract for software development has been signed between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic and an individual entrepreneur in violation of the law on public procurements, without competition and price monitoring.

According to the contract, budget funds in the amount of 1,585,000 soms have been transferred on the settlement account of the entrepreneur. As a number of companies say, the cost of similar services is about 300,000 soms. 

Currently, the criminal case is under investigation.
